From avocado toast to skinny jeans, Millennials (1981-1996) have been endlessly side-eyed by Boomers, Gen X, and Gen Z alike. But what if the lessons these ‘80s and ‘90s babies have learned (by weathering one unprecedented event after the next) are exactly what this moment calls for? What can we all learn from the most roasted — and most resilient — generation? Join author, artist, and founder of WANT: Women Against Negative Talk KATIE HORWITCH at The Green Room 42 on Thursday, October 2nd at 7pm for MILLENNIAL CRINGE: a brand new cabaret inspired by the generation made for this moment. Through a mix of stories, songs, and cultural callbacks, MILLENNIAL CRINGE dives jelly-sandals-first into the emotional depth, humor, and wisdom of the Millennial experience. With music direction by Paul Peglar (Glee, tick...tick...BOOM!, Pirates Of The Carribean), MILLENNIAL CRINGE is a joyful, cathartic, and unexpectedly moving show that invites you to move forward fearlessly by embracing exactly who you are and trusting you can take on whatever comes next. Because “Millennial” isn’t an age — it’s a mindset. Tickets prices start at $27.75. The Green Room 42 does not have a minimum food or drink purchase.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
KATIE HORWITCH is a nationally recognized author, speaker, mindset coach, and self-talk activist who has spent almost two decades working to shift the cultural self-talk paradigm. She has spoken across the country about self-confidence, living fearlessly, and shifting the stories and habits that shape our negative self-talk patterns.
Katie is the founder of the multimedia platform WANT: Women Against Negative Talk and the host of long-running podcast WANTcast: The Women Against Negative Talk Podcast. A regular mindset expert on NBC News Daily’s Mental Health Check, she has been seen on such platforms as SXSW, KTLA, The Cut, and more. She has coached some of the world’s most prominent brands and leaders on cultivating confidence and creating impact, and has been praised by CNN as a “woman empowering others around the world.” As an actor and performer, Katie has been seen on network TV and feature films, as well as on stages both regionally and Off-Broadway. Her first book, Want Your Self: Shift Your Self-Talk and Unearth The Strength In Who You Were All Along (Sounds True, 2023) is out now.
Blending her expertise in self-talk and background in musical theatre, Katie launched WANT YOUR SELF Cabarets in 2023 as a way to create joyful, inclusive spaces for people feel seen, heard, and reminded of their worth. She has since performed her signature “mindset-first” cabarets in both NYC and LA, featuring special guests from Broadway and Grammy stages as well as local artists and musicians. Katie is thrilled to be back home onstage singing and laughing with friends in NYC. She believes that shifting the story you tell yourself, about your Self, is an essential part of shaping the world you actually want to live in...and is more important now than ever before.
