This October evening the Talea Ensemble performs the U.S. premieres of the three 2020 Azrieli Music Prize-winning works by Keiko Devaux (2020 Azrieli Commission for Canadian Music Laureate), Yitzhak Yedid (2020 Azrieli Prize for Jewish Music Laureate), and Yotam Haber (2020 Azrieli Commission for Jewish Music Laureate). The program of U.S. premieres opens with David Adamcyks Double Concerto, featuring trumpet and trombone duo, plus electronics, and Pierre Mercures Dissidence (arr. Jonathan Monro for soprano and chamber orchestra) featuring soprano Sharon Azrieli. Devauxs Arras, meaning an elaborate tapestry; Habers Estro poetico-armonico III, featuring mezzo-soprano Eliza Bagg; and Yedids Kadosh Kadosh and Cursed, an homage to the composers hometown of Jerusalem, finish the program.
