New York: Urban Stages Outreach Department (Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director) continues their family programing by celebrating the month of the Irish with Pot of Gold and the power of words for National Poetry Month, with Blown Away by Poetry. Urban Stages Family series will take place on Sundays at 1:30pm. Each show runs about an hour and will be performed at Urban Stages located at 259 West 30 Street. Tickets are $10 adults / $5 kids.

Come celebrate Irish Heritage Month with a trio of Irish folktales in Pot of Gold (written and directed by Brigitte Viellieu-Davis). Join master storyteller, Timothy Connell as he uses song, dance and audience interaction to travel to the land of Ireland. Pot of Gold will be performed on Sunday March 25 at 1:30pm.

April is National Poetry Month and Urban Stages will celebrate the power of the spoken word with the interactive family show Blown Away By Poetry (written and performed by Liz Parker and Rachel Sullivan). Wendy Windstorm has accidentally blown all the poetry out of the town of Poetsville! Audience members will travel with Windy to solve this problem and along the way encounter puppet creatures that use song and movement to teach key elements of poetry. A closing writing workshop will encourage children to write their own poems and then perform them on the Urban Stages stage. Blown Away By Poetry will be performed Sunday April 1 & 15at 1:30pm.
