The St. Bart's Players, NYC's award-winning, longest-running community theater group, presents A Little Night Music as the final show in its 90th Anniversary Season.

Based on Ingmar Bergman's beloved film Smiles of a Summer Night, the original production of this musical won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score.

The show's director and choreographer, Alex Perez (Rent, Julian & Romero), and musical director, Karen Dryer (The Christians, Spelling Bee), plan to continue this high level of creativity in this upcoming production.

The St. Bart's Players production has a fresh, modern take on this classic musical, yet pays homage to the original film. Most notably, Director Perez hopes to expose such human complexities as carnal passion and desire through the intricate juxtaposition of light and dark. The staging uses minimal props in order to better connect the audience with its own imagination, its own desires. "I relate to all the characters in the show. I feel a sense of their vulnerability, pain, longing and desire. The humanity of the relationships is what really pulls me into this show," Perez remarks.

The cast features Colton Beach, Melissa Broder, Heather Burgess, Michael D. DeShields, Claire Hayner, Sarah Catherine Hook, Savannah Lloyd, James Neufeld, Kiyan Nourain, Lauren Shakra, Michael Trainer, Merrill Vaughn, Taylor Vickers and Elisabeth Zimmerman.

A Little Night Music will be performed tonight, October 19th, through October 29th at the Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 W. 26th St., New York, NY 10001. Tickets are $30 and $27 for students and seniors, and there's a special "Weekend in the Country" ticket package for $50, which includes premium seating plus a complimentary beverage and snack from our concessions stand.

Perez reflects, "Ultimately, I hope the audience, after seeing this production, walks away with a sense of humanity, beauty, secrets, darkness, truth and light." Tickets can be purchased by calling the St. Bart's Players Box Office at 212-378-0248, in person in the church lobby or online at stbarts.isecuresites.com/group/A-Little-Night-Music.
