The Secret Theatre announces its production of Alfred Uhry and Jason Robert Brown's musical PARADE, directed by Taryn Turney. PARADE will play a 2-week limited engagement. Performances begin Thursday, April 7th and continue through Saturday, April 16th.

Winner of two Tony awards (out of nine nominations) and six Drama Desk awards, PARADE dramatizes the 1913 trial of Brooklyn-born Jewish factory manager Leo Frank, who was wrongly convicted of murdering thirteen-year-old employee, Mary Phagan, in Marietta, Georgia. It is the first production to be mounted in NYC since it was on Broadway in 1998. PARADE is a murder mystery, a courtroom drama, a love story, a profile in courage and a social commentary. Book by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Alfred Uhry ("Driving Miss Daisy"), and music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown ("Songs For A New World", "The Last Five Years"), PARADE brings this defining event in American history to life, and The Secret Theatre is thrilled to bring it back to New York. In addition to the production we will be having a Leo Frank exhibit in our Gallery, where we will show pictures and give a historical account of the events depicted in the show.

The Secret Theatre's production of PARADE stars Broadway veteran Jay Aubrey Jones* [How to Succeed in Business '95, Cats] as Newt, alongside Keith Collins* as Leo Frank, Alix Paige as Lucille, as well as fellow company members Danny Blaylock, Nathan Brisby, Thom Brown III, Spencer Case, Ryan Cavanaugh, Marc Cornes, Josh Davidson, Michael Fisher, Rosharra J'Nae Francis, Molly Garbe, Amara Haacksman, Rayna Hickman*, Megan Kip, Greg Kalafatas, Joanna Krupnick and Maria Christina Perry.

We are proud to partner with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a premier civil rights organization founded in 1913 due to the events portrayed in the show. We have a strong desire to give back to our community, so we will be accepting tax-deductible donations for the ADL at all performances. Our show will not only serve as a platform to raise awareness about this tragic event in American history, but also to educate guests about this wonderful organization and the work that they continue to do to secure justice and fair treatment to all citizens alike. We will also be having a special talk back session with the ADL after the performance on Wednesday, the 13th.
