The Civilians Present The Continuing Story of Occupy Wall Street at Joe's Pub

By:

The Civilians will present Let Me Ascertain You: Occupy Wall Street, Part II. Following the company's first Occupy Wall Street cabaret at Joe's Pub, Civilians' artists continued to conduct interviews with demonstrators about the movement's recent events, including the mass police action that cleared the protests out of Zuccotti Park and what the movement's future holds.

The upcoming cabaret features entirely new material exploring why people are protesting, hopes for Occupy 2012, and how the dynamic movement has evolved over the last three months. This one-night-only performance of monologues and songs by Michael Friedman (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) crafted from interviews in The Civilians' entertaining and thought-provoking style, offers a unique glimpse into the personal stories behind this current exercise of democracy that will leave its mark our nation's history.

Each live performance of the Let Me Ascertain You series is recorded and released online as a podcast series. Three episodes crafted from the company's first cabaret about Occupy Wall Street are available for free on iTunes.

Performers: Emily Ackerman (This Beautiful City, Vineyard Theatre), Quinlan Corbett (3 2's; or AFAR, Dixon Place), Matthew Dellapina (Outside People, Vineyard Theatre), Dan Domingues (It's a Wonderful Life, Long Wharf), Scott Drummond (Pride and Prejudice, South Coast Rep), Daoud Heidami (The Civilians' (I Am) Nobody's Lunch), Daniel Jenkins (Broadway: Billy Elliot), Jordan Mahome (Mountaintop, The Lark), Kelly McCreary (Broadway: Passing Strange), Caitlin Miller (The Civilians' Tales from My Parents' Divorce)
