With much excitement, The Barrow Group announces Short Stuff 7, the seventh installation of The Barrow Group's evening of one-act plays. The series celebrates talented, up-and-coming playwrights and actors and will run on The Barrow Group's Mainstage (312 West 36th Street, floor 3, NY, NY) from July 29 through August 18, 2013, every Wednesday-Sunday evening. Short Stuff 7 will feature seven short plays: Hating Beckett and My Father's Heart by John Yearley; No Horseand THE Mulligan by Scott Organ; Closing Costs by Arlene Hutton, Torpid by Craig Pospisil and The List by Sidse Ploug Soerensen. Award-winning director and Co-Artistic Director of The Barrow Group Seth Barrish, along with Lori Wolter Hudson and Shannon Patterson, will direct the series.

Seth Barrish: Seth Barrish is Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of The Barrow Group. He directed the award-winning shows All The Rage (Lucille Lortel Award for BEST SOLO SHOW), My Girlfriend's Boyfriend, (Lucille Lortel Award for BEST SOLO SHOW, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for Best Solo Show), Sleepwalk With Me (Nightlife Award for OUTSTANDING COMEDIAN IN A MAJOR PERFORMANCE), The Tricky Part (OBIE Award, Drama Desk Nominations for BEST PLAY and BEST SOLO SHOW), Pentecost (Drama Desk Nomination for BEST PLAY), Old Wicked Songs (Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award & Garland Award for BEST DIRECTION), and Good (Straw Hat Award for BEST DIRECTION), among dozens of other productions spanning a 30-year career in Off Broadway, Off Off Broadway, regional and international theater. Seth also co-directed Mike Birbiglia's feature film Sleepwalk With Me and has worked with theatres which include The Intiman, New York Theater Workshop, The Long Wharf, The McCarter, The Geffen Playhouse, Sundance Theatre Lab, The Promenade, The Signature Theater, Asolo Center for the Performing Arts, San Jose Rep, The La Jolla Playhouse, Two River Theater, Playhouse 91, La Mama E.T.C., The Perry Street Theatre, Provincetown Rep, and The Barrow Group. A professional acting and directing teacher, Seth recently served as a Master Teacher at the International Director's Symposium in Spoleto, Italy, and is author of the book An Actor's Companion-99 Bits of Craft. Seth was a producer on Mike Birbiglia's most recent CD "Sleepwalk With Me Live." As an actor, Seth appears regularly in film and on television.

Lori Wolter Hudson: Lori Wolter Hudson is a New York based director and the artistic associate of The New Harmony Project. She is currently developing According to the Chorus with playwright Arlene Hutton andTo Hell and Back with composer Joel B. New. Directing credits include Tania in the Getaway Van (NHP), And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little (NYU-Strasberg), Running andThe Classroom (FringeNYC). She recently assistant directed the Broadway revival of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Craig Lucas's The Lying Lesson with director Pam MacKinnon. SDC Associate and graduate of the University of Evansville.

Shannon Patterson: Shannon has her BFA in theatre performance from The University of Northern Iowa and has been a member of The Barrow Group Community since 2001. She has been seen in many productions throughout the city. Some of her favorites roles include Cassie in The Standard of the Breed, Desdemona in Paula Vogel'sDesdemona and originating the role of Tory in Arlene Hutton's 40 Stat.76. Here at TBG Shannon has been seen in countless readings. Her directing credits include 'Night Mother, Short Stuff, and multiple play readings. As a teacher, Shannon helped to develop The Barrow Group's teen and tween acting and teen scene study programs. She is also an active member of F.A.B. (For About and By women) where she has been developing, directing and originating roles in emerging work.

The Barrow Group Acting School / Studio offers courses in acting and directing. These NYC acting classes include: scene study studio intensives, monologue workshop, solo-show performance workshop, script analysis, alexander technique, theatrical clown, voice, Shakespeare, beginner/beginning/amateur, and teen/tween/kids/youth classes. The TBG School also offers a 1.5-year acting program and a 6-week summer acting program.
