THE PHOTO ALBUM Set for The Brick's Game Play Festival, Now thru 7/26
The Brick Theater, Inc., in association with The Story Gym, presents THE PHOTO ALBUM as part of Game Play, a festival of video game theater, running today, July 6 - 26, 2013.
While remodeling a house in Ditmas Park, a bunch of photos were discovered in the newly exposed cracks and crevices. Who did these photos belong to and what memories did they capture? Audience members must scan the photographs using the Layar app on their smartphones/tablets to reveal clues in augmented reality that send them on a scavenger hunt through the theatre to find characters and collect lost memories. Cast: Tim Dowd, Colleen Kennedy, Alden LaPaglia, Laura Merrill, Freddie Lee Moultry III, Frank Paiva, Anna Paratore, Donna Ross, Mark Scherman, Leonard Vogol, Kyungsik Won, and Clara Wong. Design Team: Jack Karp.The Photo Album will run tonight, July 6 at 7pm, Sunday, July 7 at 4pm, Wednesday, July 10 at 7pm, Tuesday, July 16 at 8pm, and Friday, July 26 at 7pm as part of Game Play at The Brick (579 Metropolitan Avenue between Union Avenue and Lorimer Street, Brooklyn). Lisa Reinke (Director) is the artistic director of The Story Gym, a professor of theatre at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and an ABD Theatre PhD student specializing in the integration of mobile smartphone technology with theatre.
