Brooklyn, NY's Piper Theatre Productions is proud to announce its first international tour: Piper's original adaptation of HG Wells' The Island of Doctor Moreau will be in residence this August at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland.

To celebrate and give local audiences a peek at the enormous creative beehive that is Edinburgh Fringe, Piper is pleased to take part in 59E59's Edinburgh Festival Fringe Preview: East to Edinburgh, with three performances of The Island of Dr. Moreau in Manhattan at 59E59's Theatre C on July 10, 13 and 14. These will be the only New York previews of Moreau before its August 11-25th residency in Edinburgh.

The Island of Doctor Moreau is a mystical and savage tale of science run amok. A young man lands on a strange island where a mad scientist tampers with nature to warp animals into humans. Piper's Butoh-inspired physical adaptation - along with an original and haunting score - heightens the suspense to create an otherworldly island of horror.

For 59E59's East to Edinburgh, The Island of Dr. Moreau will be joined by the productions of 14 fellow talented Edinburgh-bound local companies. A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the Edinburgh performance costs, so come see the best of New York's inventive, independent theatre scene, support your local artists and cheer them on to Scotland!
