59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) welcomes the Rubicon Theatre in California to Americas Off Broadway with their critically acclaimed production of THE BEST IS YET TO COME: THE MUSIC OF CY COLEMAN, devised and directed by David Zippel. THE BEST IS YET TO COME: THE MUSIC OF CY COLEMAN begins previews on Tuesday, May 18 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 3. Opening Night is Wednesday, May 25 at 7:00 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:00 PM; Friday at 8:00 PM; Saturday at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM; and Sunday at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Please note, there is no 7:00 PM performance on Sunday, June 12; there is an added matinee performance on Wednesday, June 8 at 2:00 PM. The regular ticket price is $65 ($45.50 for 59E59 Members). The first and only revue of the music of Cy Coleman fittingly arrives in Cy's old neighborhood when THE BEST IS YET TO COME: THE MUSIC OF CY COLEMAN swings into 59E59 Theaters. The sparkling score features favorites from Coleman's Broadway shows (Little Me, Sweet Charity, Seesaw, On The Twentieth Century, Barnum, City of Angels, The Will Rogers Follies, The Life); pop hits made famous by Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand; and new never-heard-before show-stoppers written toward the end of Coleman's prolific life, which prove the best really IS yet to come!

Under the direction of Tony Award-winner David Zippel, the cast includes Tony Award-winner Lillias White, Grammy Award-winner Billy Stritch, Tony Award-nominee Sally Mayes, Tony Award-nominee Howard McGillin, Drama Desk Award-winner Rachel York and Helen Hayes Award-winner David Burnham.

The design team includes Douglas Schmidt (set design), Michael Gilliam (lighting design), William Ivey Long (costume design) and Jonathan Burke (sound design). The Production Stage Manager is Christina Burck. Billy Stritch is musical director and conductor. Choreography is by Lorin Latarro. Orchestrations are by Don Sebesky.

THE BEST IS YET TO COME: THE MUSIC OF CY COLEMAN features lyrics by Coleman collaborators Alan & Marilyn Bergman, Betty Comden & Adolph Green, Dorothy Fields, Ira Gasman, Carolyn Leigh, Michael Stewart and David Zippel.

THE BEST IS YET TO COME: THE MUSIC OF CY COLEMAN is a Rubicon Theatre Company production (Karyl Lynn Burns and James O'Neil, Artistic Directors), in association with David Elzer and Barbara Meister. It is co-produced by Dottie and Bernie Novatt, Charles Hughen - Stage Two, Marvin Kahan, Normand Kurtz, and Dean and Justin Scribner. The Executive Producer is Michael Jackowitz.

David Zippel (creator/director) has received the Tony Award, two Academy Award Nominations, two Grammy nominations and three Golden Globe nominations. He is one of few contemporary lyricists to have achieved success on Broadway, in Hollywood and in the world of pop music. His songs appear on over 25 million CDs around the world. With Cy Coleman and Larry Gelbart he made his Broadway debut with City of Angels, for which he received the Tony, New York Drama Critics and Drama Desk Awards and London's Olivier and Evening Standard Awards. With Alan Menken, he wrote the songs for Disney's Hercules. Michael Bolton"s recording of "Go The Distance," from Hercules, was a #1 record and was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. He wrote the lyrics for Disney's Mulan, which earned him his second Academy Award nomination, David wrote the lyrics to Andrew Lloyd Webber's music for The Woman In White. "I Believe My Heart" from the show was a #2 single on the British pop charts and the show earned David Olivier and Tony Award Nominations. David worked with Liza Minnelli to write Liza's at The Palace, which won the 2009 Tony Award and was recorded for PBS. The Goodbye Girl, Marvin Hamlisch and Neil Simon, received a Tony nomination for Best Musical and earned David an Outer Critics Circle Nomination for Best Lyrics.
