TENTACLES Comes to Under St. Mark's
Following two successful workshops at the PIT and Magnet Theater, Tessa Flannery's 50-minute comic play 'TENTACLES' premieres at Under St. Mark's with FRIGID NY. The third in a series of collaborations between Flannery and director Rebecca Cunningham, and produced under the Voyage Theater Company banner, 'TENTACLES' is a timely feminist harpooning of Tentacle Porn.
Over the course of this doctoral-thesis-gone-awry, Flannery and fellow performer Chris Fayne slide down the slippery slope of consent, fantasy, and female sexuality through the lens of one slimy pornography genre. In the midst of the #metoo movement, 'TENTACLES' asks how we reconcile our fantasies with our feminism. Featuring fight/intimacy direction by Claire Warden.
