Swiftly Tilting Theatre Project, Inc. Presents RADIANCE, THE PASSION OF MARIE CURIE This Weekend

By:

This weekend, May 8-10, 2015, Swiftly Tilting Theatre Project, Inc. presents RADIANCE, THE PASSION OF MARIE CURIE, the ardent struggle between knowledge and love, by award-winning actor and playwright, Alan Alda.

Marie Curie, on the precipice of discovering two new elements and awarded the Nobel Prize embraces her passion for learning while fighting against the domestic expectations of the patriarchal society in turn-of-the-century Paris. Marie strives to find balance between her need to be an intellectual and the need to be a woman. Alan Alda (Scientific American Frontiers, M*A*S*H) transforms actual letters, journals, and newspaper articles into an impressionistic drama that allows both characters and actors to radiate their best qualities to an audience.

Becca C. Kidwell directs a cast with diverse backgrounds and training. The cast features Polish-American actress, trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Ewa Maria Wojcik as Marie, Gary Kozak (Encore, Encore with the Gallery Players, Strawberry One Festival) as Pierre, artistic director of Teatro delle Due, Adam R. Deremer as Emile, Alexandra Perlwitz (Project: Theatre, Connecticut Rep) as Marguerite, Chris Cook (Albany Curtain Call Theatre, Albany Civic Theatre) as Paul, Atlantic Acting School Graduate, Kristen Brody as Jeanne, and Vassar College Graduate, Timothy Magidson as Terbourgie and Tornebladh.

All performances are located at Joria Productions Mainstage Theater, 410 W. 47th St, New York, NY 10036. Friday and Saturday performances start at 7:30pm. Sunday performance starts at 4:30pm. Tickets available at: http://radianceswiftly.brownpapertickets.com/ or 1-800-838-3006.
