Thornton Wilder's 1938 Pulitzer Prize-winning play about small-town America in the early 1900s, depicted in the fictionalized town of Grover's Corners, is one of the most renowned and frequently performed plays of all time.

Described by Edward Albee as "the greatest American play ever written," its stunning and simple message speaks to not only our nature, but also to the universal human condition: hope, fear, desire and the search for meaning. OUR TOWN celebrates the truth in our moment-to-moment existence on this planet and is a spiritual reminder of what is important in our lives; it is, in Wilder's words, "an attempt to find a value above all price for the smallest events in our daily life."

The St. Bart's Players are proud and honored to present this very special play in the historic sanctuary of St. Bartholomew's Church, a most fitting setting. OUR TOWN embodies many of the things St. Bartholomew's Church stands for: "The dignity and worth of every person; an open-minded, passionate commitment to truth; the importance of everyone's own spiritual journey; the sacredness of life's rites of passage; and the value of community."

The St. Bart's Players, NYC's award-winning, longest, continuously-running Off-Off-Broadway theater group, is now celebrating its 87th season. Tickets for OUR TOWN - $25 Regular and $22 Senior & Student (18 and under) - can be purchased from The St. Bart's Players Box Office by phone 212-378-0248 or in person in the church lobby, as well as online at http://www.stbarts.org/st-barts-players-in-our-town/.
