She Got Off The Couch will have its New York City premiere at experimental performance venue, Dixon Place, as part of the HOT! Festival. Running since 1992 and it is the 26 year of the LGBTQ festival curated with performances featuring queer theater, dance, music, literature, puppetry, comedy. Critically acclaimed for bringing exciting new work to the stage, She Got Off the Couch is excited to be on stage on July 24th.

Coming home from a therapy retreat with an unsettling announcement to make, a young woman struggles to come out to her family during the holidays. The first production of the show was at the Hollywood Fringe Festival last June.

Kati Schwartz is a playwright and performer. Plays include The Coward, She Got Off The Couch (2017 Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference sem-finalist) and Caring For The Dead. Kati's work has been produced and developed across the country at places such as Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Hollywood Fringe Festival, Ugly Rhino Theatre Company, and Next Stage Arts Project. Favorite acting credits: August: Osage County (The Fulton Theatre), Robin Hood (Williamstown), Leah: The Forsaken (Metropolitan Playhouse). Writing Awards include: Fringe Encore Series Award, 2016, Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference semi-finalist, 2017.

Lili Alice Walker Stiefel is a New York City based theater maker approaching her thesis year at The New School for Drama. Recent credits include "Bus Stop" by William Inge with the Theatrical Players Club at John Jay School for Criminal Justice. Other projects include "Mixed Chicks" a series of interviews with biracial women, culminating in a devised theater piece.
