Ron Abel to Perform at Birdland 10/20

Ron Abel (pictured, with Luba Mason) the award-winning composer and arranger, is set to perform his hilarious, unforgettable song, "All the Good Men are Gay," at the famous Jazz venue Birdland in New York on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Written with producer Bruce Newberg, Ron will delight the audience with this uproarious melody and perform a bevy of original songs from his musical library.

Originally from Ron's Show, "Gay 90s, Looking Back, Moving On," "All the Good Men are Gay" has developed a groundswell of adoration with such kitschy lines as "Where can I have an affair? Who's not enamored of Cher," and "If a guy makes me tingle, he's either not single or straight from Jeoffrey Ballet."  Additionally, performances are occurring all over the country. One such artist, stage and television star, Joely Fisher, put her definitive stamp on the song during Ron's sold out performance at the historic Pantages Theater in Los Angeles, CA earlier this year. In addition to this showstopper, Ron will be performing many other of his beloved songs with some of the best and brightest from Broadway and beyond.  One such song will be a preview from his Broadway bound musical "Bricktop," produced by Whoopi Goldberg, Paul Lambert and Jonas Neilson.

This year's performance at Birdland promises to be a Jazz sensation with standout performances by Golden Globe nominated Lucie Arnaz, Tony nominated Valarie Pettiford, acclaimed London-based actress/singer  Giselle Wolf, and Ron's new sensational find, Rocco Fiorentino. An audience of Broadway luminaries including veteran star Chita Rivera will be there to cheer them all on.
