The PIT has announced the return of acclaimed company Recent Cutbacks with their new parody, KEVIN!!!!!.

This Christmas, Kevin is alone...at home. The team that brought you HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS and FLY, YOU FOOLS! tackles their most ambitious project to date, featuring live projections, puppets, and a four-person choir, all told in Recent Cutbacks' signature brand of humor, nostalgia, and thrilling theatricality. Discover the true meaning (maybe) of Christmas this year with KEVIN!!!!!

Kristin McCarthy Parker directs Nick Abeel, Natalie Rich and Kyle Schaefer. The creative team includes Kelsey Didion (Musical Arrangements), Richard Sears (Choir Director) and Lanie Zipoy (Producer). Full casting and creative team members will be announced shortly.

Recent Cutbacks have played to audiences in New York, Chicago, and Indianapolis. This is their third production, following the hit parodies HOLD ONTO YOUR BUTTS (Time Out New York Critics' Pick) and FLY, YOU FOOLS!.

Previews will be at The Peoples Improv Theater (Striker Stage) beginning Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 8:00 pm, and performances will run beginning on December 3, 2016 through Saturday, January 7, 2017 with a varied schedule. Nick Abeel (Creator/Performer) is an actor and theater artist based in New York City. He's performed at HERE Arts, Dixon Place, 59E59, UCB, the PIT, The Duplex, Indiana Rep, Geva Theater, Denver Center, and the Kennedy Center. He's developed new work in NYC with New Dramatists, The Lark, MTC, NY Stage and Film, Partial Comfort, Primary Stages, and New Georges. Nick is also a company member with Broken Box Mime Theater and a voice over artist. Proud graduate of the University of Evansville.

Kelsey Didion (Music Arrangements) is a co-founder of Recent Cutbacks and is currently collaborating long-distance from Colorado. She was an original performer in Hold On To Your Butts and created music for Fly, You Fools! Credits include: Colorado Shakespeare Festival, The PIT, Theatre Row, Chautauqua Theater Company, PlayMakers Repertory Company, New York Shakespeare Exchange, The New Harmony Project and others. Film: Ricki and the Flash. University of Evansville (BS) and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (MFA).

Kristin McCarthy Parker (Director) is a freelance director in New York City and founding member of Recent Cutbacks. Her work includes Matt cox's Puffs and Kapow-i GoGo, Recent Cutbacks' Hold On To Your Butts and Fly, You Fools!, Lizzie Vieh's Monsoon Season (Sam French OOB Festival Finalist), Ship of Clowns (Fordham/Primary Stages), Franny's Way (Rutgers University) and Dracula (Three Day Hangover). She has directed and developed work at Ma-Yi, 59E59, The Flea, HERE Arts, Dixon Place, Columbia University, Atlantic Acting School, and the University of Florida, among others. She also worked on Season 1 of web series The Weekend Detectives. Assistantships include Ed Iskandar, Michael Greif, Wendy Goldberg and Trip Cullman.

Natalie Rich (Creator/Performer) is a New York based actor and writer from Louisville, Kentucky. Recent performances include Tartuffe, Horse Girls, Robin Hood and The Elephant Man, featuring Bradley Cooper. She can be seen in various short play festivals around town and she has developed new work with Ars Nova, The PIT, Dixon Place, Vertigo Theater, 24 Hour Plays, New Harmony Project and Williamstown Theatre Festival. Natalie studies sketch writing at UCB and she is the co-creator of Gimme an F! (The PIT) and the new web series "The Weekend Detectives" (Vimeo). BFA University of Evansville. www.natalierich.com

Kyle Schaefer (Creator/Performer) was most recently seen in Hedda (Gabler) with Wandering Bark Theater Co. He co-created Fly, You Fools! and Hold Onto Your Butts with Recent Cutbacks, and is a founding member of the Group Lab. NEW YORK: Ivanov, True Love, Plunge, A Christmas Carol. Richard Sears (Choir Director) is a singer, vocal coach and master clinician in Manhattan. He is an charismatic performer, leading all of his interactions with a smile, a joyful spirit and the occasional laughter. As a singer, Richard is known to perform a wide genre of music including pop, opera, musical theater and religious works. His most recent credits include engagements in The Christians by Lucas Hnath at Playwrights Horizons and the world premiere of David Lang's The Public Domain at Lincoln Center.

Lanie Zipoy (Producer) is a theater and film producer. Her theater credits include Laura Marks' Bethany, starring America Ferrera (Associate Producer, Women's Project, 2 Lortel nominations); Mac Rogers' Universal Robots (Manhattan Theatre Source, ITBA's Best Off-Off Broadway Play and 4 New York Innovative Theatre Awards nominations, including Outstanding Production); Jelena Kajgo's Realists (HERE); RoseMary Moore's Side Street, directed by Ian Morgan; and the Brooklyn premiere of Caroline, or Change. Her recent film credits include Ben Barenholtz's Alina and April Flowers, starring Celina Jade and Keir Dullea.

The Peoples Improv Theater strives to entertain and educate the community about the comedic arts in a safe and nurturing environment.
