terraNOVA Collective & Jack Sharkey present Questions My Mother Can't Answer, a moving and funny one woman show written by and starring Andrea Caban (recipient of the 2008 NY Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Solo Performance), as part of the 8th annual soloNOVA Arts Festival, Sat 5/21 @ 4pm, Sun 5/22 @ 6pm, Mon 5/23 @ 8pm, Wed 5/25 @ 8pm & Fri 5/27 @ 8pm
at 9th Space (located at Performance Space 122, 150 1st Ave at 9th Street).

Produced by Jack Sharkey who presented Nilaja Sun's tour-de-force No Child... at Epic Theatre Ensemble, and Edinburgh & Dublin Fringe Festivals and directed by Rachel Eckerling, co-director of this past season's Diary of a Teenage Girl at 3LD Arts & Technology Center (and frequent collaborator of Francis Ford Coppola on both theatre and film projects), the creative team for Questions My Mother Can't Answer will also include Grammy Award-winning sound designer Marcelo Añez.

IT Award-winning solo artist Andrea Caban is back with her sold-out 2010 FringeNYC hit. She's on a mind-body-soul healing mission after being hit by a New York City cab. She interviews eight "women-of-a-certain-age" including a sexy Moroccan ballroom dancer, a donations-only prostitute, and her Aunt Shirley. Hoping to redefine "navigating life" and to interpret the ticks of her biological clock, Andrea looks for guidance from a variety of female role models, only to find that there are no role models...that we are all flawed and life isn't about avoiding accidents, or tragedy, but how we deal with it.

"I left the theater feeling like I had gained something I didn't even know was missing."
New York Theatre Review
