Gringold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw will present George Bernard Shaw's The Dark Lady of the Sonnets and Shakes Versus Shav and Cymbeline Refinished at 7 pm on Monday, January 19. The performance will take place at the Players, 16 Gramercy Park South (20th St. east of Park Avenue) and will feature Jayne Houdyshell, Daniel Jenkins Liz Morton, Robert Stanton, and host David Cote. The performance is produced and directed by David Staller.

The Performance includes two and a half one-acts. The Dark Lady of the Sonnets chronicles when William Shakespeare meets Elizabeth I on a moonlit night. Is she the fabled Dark Lady? In Shakes Versus Shav, Shaw and Shakespeare (and several of their literary characters) duke it out. Who wins? Cymbeline Refinished details Shaw sending up the endlessly confusing final Shakespearean act of Cymbelie, bringing the audience a speedy and happily larkishish finale. (All 10+ characters will be played by the Daniel Jenkins and Robert Stanton.)

The performances are open to the public. Tickets go on sale the first of every month and cost $20. Ticket sales will close on Friday the 16th. Tickets will be available, cash only, at the door.
