Direct from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, comedian/actor Des Bishop brings his solo standup comedy, My Dad Was Nearly James Bond," to the Barrow Street Theatre for the first time in the U.S.Des tells the deeply personal tale of his father, now stricken with a terminal illness, with a collection of hilariously funny and heartwarming material. "Before I was born, my father had another life. His biggest claim was that he was close to getting the role of James Bond." A native New Yorker, Des moved from Queens to Ireland in 1990. He has carved out a successful career in standup comedy in Ireland, as well as having three television series and four DVDs.Videos
