Libra Theatre Company Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary with MIDSUMMER MUSICALS, 8/11

Libra Theater Company presents MIDSUMMER MUSICALS, a concert reading of four short musicals by Joshua H. Cohen, Sophia Chapadjiev, Mat Eisenstein, Mark T. Evans, Allison Leyton-Brown, Sara Nicholson, and Sunny Dahlia Turner. MIDSUMMER MUSICALS is directed by MK Lawson and Jeff Raab, with music directed by Shannon Collins. MIDSUMMER MUSICALS opens Thursday, August 11th, at 8:30 pm at The Underground. Doors open at 8:00 pm.

Libra Theater Company presents Midsummer Musicals, a night of readings of four short musicals from some of today's most talented up-and-coming composers and lyricists. The event will commemorate Libra's one-year anniversary. Midsummer Musicals will take place on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 8:30 pm at The Underground (955 West End Avenue at 107th Street). Doors open at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $12 plus a two-drink minimum. To book reservations, email reservations@libratheater.org.

In THE LIST, Joe McCarthy's interns find his infamous list of Communists working in the State Department. So now what do they do with it? Directed by Jeff Raab, The List features music by 2011 Jonathan Larson Grant recipient Joshua H. Cohen and book and lyrics by Sunny Dahlia Turner.

Directed by MK Lawson, SAD BEAR features music by Mark T. Evans and book and lyrics by Sara Nicholson. Will Tommy find the nerve to confess his deepest crush? Will Alanna find her inner bravery? Only a stuffed bear will tell...

In THEORY OF KISS, two level-headed scientists, Scientist Claire and Scientist Ray, become afraid of their own findings when they test the Theory of Kiss. Also directed by MK Lawson, THEORY OF KISS features music by Allison Leyton-Brown and book and lyrics by Sophia Chapadjiev.

In COUNTDOWN TO NEVERMORE, the New Year is quickly approaching, and in the midst of the celebration, Nathan and Kate must face the fateful event that changed their lives. Directed by Jeff Raab, COUNTDOWN TO NEVERMORE features music by Mat Eisenstein and book and lyrics by Sophia Chapadjiev.
