Blessed Unrest, winner of the 2008 New York Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Production of a Play, presents EURYDICE'S DREAM, the company's newest original piece conceived by Jessica Burr (recipient of the 2011 League of Professional Theatre Women Lucille Lortel Award), and presented at the InterArt Theater (500 West 52nd Street, corner of 10th Avenue) in Manhattan. Preview performances of EURYDICE'S DREAM begin tonight, March 28 prior to an official press opening of April 1st, 2013.

Directed and choreographed by Ms. Burr, EURYDICE'S DREAM has text by Teddy Jefferson and Matt Opatrny.

EURYDICE'S DREAM is rooted in the myths of Orpheus/Eurydice/Orcus and Echo/Narcissus and tells the overlapping narratives of a woman torn between two worlds, a traveler lost and found in a desolate land, and a lover shaken to the core by a shocking encounter. Strikingly beautiful and emotionally powerful, EURYDICE'S DREAM is the latest creation from Blessed Unrest, an experimental ensemble that has been making plays in New York and touring internationally for over a decade.

The multi-cultural cast of EURYDICE'S DREAM will feature Andrew Dahl (opposite F. Murray Abraham in "Merchant of Venice"), Marco De Ornella (Blessed Unrest's THE STORM), Jason Griffin ("Straight on 'til Morning" at 78th Street Theatre Lab), Tatyana Kot ("Salome" at The Flea), Darrell Stokes ("The Misanthrope" Boomerang Theatre Company), Sonia Villani (Ann Hamilton's "The Event of a Thread"), and Jessika Williams ("The Bacchae" at Lincoln Center).

Design team for EURYDICE'S DREAM will be Benjamin C. Gevelow (lighting and set design), Summer Lee Jack (costume design), and Damen Scranton and Jaimie Van Dyke (sound design).

Jessica Burr (Blessed Unrest Artistic Director) has directed THE STORM, ARTCAMP SEXYTIME FOOTBALL, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, NICK (a new translation and adaptation of Chekhov's Ivanov by Laura Wickens), THE SWORN VIRGIN and DORUNTINE (both with Florent Mehmeti of Teatri Oda, Kosovo), MEASURE FOR MEASURE and Suzan-Lori Parks' 365DAYS/365PLAYS. Other directing credits include PERICLES, DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA, and THE LOVE OF DON PERLIMPLIN and BELISA IN THE GARDEN.

Blessed Unrest recently concluded their acclaimed international tour of THE SWORN VIRGIN, which they toured throughout the Balkans.

Blessed Unrest uses the safe structure of training, rehearsal and performance to create an environment where dangerous things can happen. They are a non-profit, experimental theatre company based in Manhattan and have been generating original work since 1999, presenting over twenty full productions and numerous workshops and readings. Blessed Unrest pursues international collaborations, performing here and overseas, including an ongoing relationship with Teatri Oda of Kosova. Past productions include DORUNTINE; NICK; BURN, CRAVE, HOLD; COMOTION (with the NYU Percussion Ensemble); 365 DAYS/365 PLAYS (w/ The Public Theater); LYING; THE STORM; to name a few.

Performing tonight, March 28th through April 22nd EURYDICE'S DREAM will have a performance schedule of Mondays at 7:00pm, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 5:00pm (with no performance on Sunday, March 31) at the InterArt Theatre (500 West 52nd Street, corner of 10th Avenue).
