Colt Coeur's Play Hotel reading series will present a staged reading of Jesse Weaver's We Shall Catch Larks on Monday, November 12th at 7pm at the CoCo Studio in NYC. Directed by Stella Powell-Jones, the cast features Geraldine Hughes (Cyrano, Translations, Gran Torino, Rocky Balboa), Matt Stadelmann (American Sligo, Seven Minutes in Heaven), and Joe Tippett (Fish Eye).

Colt Coeur (Recall, Fish Eye, Seven Minutes in Heaven) is a NY-based ensemble of actors, designers, playwrights and directors dedicated to making original, story-driven, aggressively visceral theater. Play Hotel is Colt Coeur's ongoing reading series, and their principal arena for developing new work. They are currently developing projects with Nikole Beckwith, Eliza Clark, Matt Friedberger, Steven Levenson, and Caleb Scott. Previous Play Hotel readings have included: Adam Bock's Marcy Comes Homes, Max Posner's The Thing About Air Travel, and Alena Smith's Plucker.

Jesse Weaver's plays have been performed in Chicago, Dublin & London. Chicago writing credits include Third Appointment, Rosenthal Trio and RUN HOME TEDDY (all Collaboration 'Sketch Fest), 46A and Do With You (Estrogen Fest, 2007); Selective Service and the Art of Acorn Chance (Breadline Theatre Company, 2004); Sweet Pretty Love Jam, Up, Pardonable, The Artist Needs a Wife, The Float (all the side project theatre company).Dublin writing credits include: Bypass (Painted Filly Theatre Co., 2012), Rainout (Fishamble Theatre Co., 'Tiny Plays for Ireland, 2012), Do With You, Bill and Fran, Hydrophobia, and Up (all Painted Filly Theatre Co.) Painted Filly also produced his full-length play Biography of Bernie Ward in August 2007. UK writing credits: Mumah, (HighTide Theatre Festival, 2009) and Famine Diary (Reading, HighTide, 2010). His play Deathwatch Beetle was a semi-finalist for the O'Neill Theatre's National Playwright Conference in 2011, and his play We Shall Catch Larks was recently named a finalist in the Yale University Press 2012 Drama Competition.

Stella Powell-Jones is a freelance director based in New York. Her work has been seen at Red Bull Theatre Co., The Flea, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Portland Center Stage, IRT & NYU/TISCH. Credits include The True Drug Stories of Jim Simpson, The Naked Side of Grace: the Final Concert of Grace Fullest & Violet Tendencies, Bill and Lenny, Bulfinch Mythology, Third Wave Fems, The Gnadiges Fraulein. Most recently she directed a workshop of We Shall Catch Larks for Painted Filly Theatre Co., in Dublin, Ireland. She is a creative consultant for New York City Opera. Upcoming: a workshop of Stephanie DiMaggio & Anton Dudley's The Orchard for Playwrights Realm.
