IRTE, the Improvisational Repertory Theatre Ensemble, is BACK with its third season of improvised shows. After another highly successful season of full houses, stand-out fest appearances and glowing praise, the NYC-based ensemble of comedy actors and writers returns with its own unique brand of original themed, character-driven improvisational shows performed in rep. April 12, IRTE begins its official residency at The Producers Club with THE SCARY, Improvised Stephen King. Your dead pet stands by a shining dark tower in Maine...Watch in terror as the twisted members of IRTE craft your suggestions into a story worthy of the KING of Horror, himself! Dare you face... THE SCARY?!!
THE SCARY, directed by Pat Shay (PIT Faculty, iO and Second City Touring Companies), will borrow common themes and tropes from Stephen King's most popular works and, based on audience suggestions, create entirely new and FUNNY LIVE horror shows.
IRTE's roster of merrymakers - led by artistic director Nannette Deasy - include Robert Baumgardner, Alex Decaneas, Curt Dixon, Graceann Dorse, Jamie Maloney, and Marcia Sofley. For SPACE PROBE and THE SCARY, they will be joined by guest performer Evie Aronson (TruTV, HBO Films, Frigid Fest NY) and Guest Director, Pat Shay. The group's collective credits include off-Broadway theater, national tours and feature film. Each show at the Producers Club will include appearances by talented up and comers from the NY indie music scene.
