Full Cast Announced For HAUNTED HOUSE, Performances Begin 7/9

Audax Theatre Group today announced that Jordan Charney, Jason Blaine, Meghan Miller, Jason Altman, and Diana Cherkas would comprise the cast of their new production, Haunted House, a new play by Daniel Roberts, directed by Brian Ziv. Performances will begin July 9th at the Irish Arts Center (553 West 51st Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues), for a limited engagement though August 8th only.

The Dunn's operate the third oldest ride in New Jersey, The Haunted House, a past-its-prime fun house at the Jersey shore. When San Francisco tech geeks Lucy and Moses descend on the Dunn's to conduct an interview, two very different worlds collide.

Jordan Charney last worked with playwright Daniel Roberts and director Brian Ziv on their critically acclaimed The Gold Standard. He appeared last season at Primary Stages in Willy Holtzman’s Something You Did after garnering an Outstanding Actor Award for his appearance in Mr. Holtzman’s Hearts at Baltimore Center Stage. Other New York appearances include the B’way productions of Talley’s Folly, The Birthday Party, and Shadowlands, among others, two appearances with TFANA (Waste and Troilus and Cressida), dozens of Off-Broadway productions including the original production of Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story. He has appeared in regional theaters all across the country including Yale Rep, Baltimore Center Stage, Boston’s Huntington Theatre, Geva Theater in Rochester, Buffalo Center Stage, South Coast Rep, etc. His favorite TV roles include Mr. Angelino on “Three’s Company” and his recurring role of Judge Donald Karan on “Law & Order.”  Movie credits include Ghostbusters, Network, Plaza Suite, Hospital, Raccoon: Maybe Means No, Ananmorph, and Mo. Jason Blaine's notable theatre credits include It Cannot Be Called Our Mother But Our Graves with Theatre of a Two-Headed Calf and Soho Rep, Monsterface with the Audax Theatre Group, Lonnie-Jake with the Barrow Group Theatre, and Pippin with Goodspeed Musicals. Notable film credits include This Is a Story About Ted and Alice directed by Teressa Tunney with Oscar nominee Melissa Leo, The Stranger by Christopher Radcliff, and Sonny and Michelle directed by Paula Wilson. Jason is also a member of the theatre company The Tyna Collective.  Meghan Miller has appeared in numerous independent films and theatre including The Graduates, Identical Dead Sisters, Lost on the Map, Dita Reema Anjana, and Roller Coaster. Training at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and The Lee Strasberg Institute. As much a performance artist as an actress, Meghan’s background and training in dance, theatre and circus acrobatics have led her to such projects as Bambi Killers, a cultish rock band where vaudeville meets punk rock. Jason Altman’s most recent credits include Spite at the Cherry Lane Theater under the direction of Mark Schneider, This Is Way Beyond My Remote Control at the Wild Project under the direction of Mahayana Landowne, and more. www.altmanactor.com. Diana Cherkas’ most recent theatrical credit was the American premiere of A Laughing Matter at Centenary Stage. Her most recent film credit was a supporting role in the indie feature Modern Love is Automatic, which made its world premiere at SXSW this past March.

Playwright Daniel Roberts has also written for television, and his poetry and fiction have been published in various national periodicals including Press, The Hudson Review and Poetry. Previous productions of his plays include Monsterface, The Beginning of the And, The Gold Standard, Frankie and Brando. Currently, he is developing a project for HBO based on his award-winning, one-act play Ost, working as an advocate and activist in Lambertville, NJ, and teaching poetry at Harlem's PS 101.

Originally from Chicago, director Brian Ziv has been active in theatre for most of his life. In addition to being an Associate Producer and the Assistant Director of Monsterface, Brian was the AD for 2006's The Gold Standard, and directed the successful restaging of The Beginning of the End to great reviews and full houses. Some past projects include: Titus Andronicus, The History of America, Abridged, Lysistrata, The Misanthrope, Scapino!, and The Final Interrogation of Ceausescu's Dog. This fall Brian will be attending film school in California.

Julia Noulin-Mérat will provide set design with costume design by James DiMartino and lighting deign by Kate Ashton.

Audax ("Bold" in Latin) Theatre Group was founded in 2000 by two members of the Atlantic Theater Group's 24-Hour Play festival, Daniel Tisman and Daniel Roberts. Dedicated to audacious plays that add spice to the available stock of reality, Audax productions have been mentioned for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, won OOBR awards, and have helped establish the careers of countless theatre professionals who dared to be bold.

Performances will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8 PM. Running time is 90 minutes.
