Flux Theatre Ensemble's SANS MERCI & HONEY FIST Announces New Performance Schedule

By:

Flux Theatre Ensemble will present the NYC Premiere of Johnna Adams' (The Angel Eaters Trilogy with Flux; 2011 recipient of the Princess Grace Award) Sans Merci and the World Premiere of August Schulenburg's (DEINDE; Lesser Seductions of History) Honey Fist in rep at the 4th Street Theatre (83 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) April 26-May 18. Performances for Sans Merci will be on 4/26, 4/28, 4/29, 5/3, 5/5, 5/7, 5/8, 5/11, 5/16, & 5/17 at 7:30pm and 4/27, 5/4, & 5/12 at 2:30pm. Honey Fist will run 4/30, 5/1, 5/2, 5/4, 5/9, 5/10, 5/12, 5/14, 5/15, & 5/18 at 7:30pm and 5/5, 5/11, & 5/18 at 2:30pm. Tickets ($18; $15 students) may be purchased online at www.fluxtheatre.org or by calling 866-811-4111. Tickets to see performances of both shows are $30 (with no service charge).

Actress Lori E. Parquet* (Zetta in Dog Act) will join the cast of Honey Fist, along with Matt Archambault (Lesser Seductions of History), Nat Cassidy* (Songs of Love: A Theatrical Mixtape, FringeNYC 2012), Anna Rahn* (Ajax in Iraq), Isaiah Tanenbaum (Mac in DEINDE), and Chinaza Uche* (Peter in Hearts Like Fists). *Actor appears courtesy of the Actors' Equity Association.

While both plays stand alone as individually conceived works, when presented together a fascinating dialogue emerges. Both plays explore the fraught landscape of loss, asking urgent questions like: "Who owns the stories of the dead?" and "Is it possible to move on without letting go?" yet each play has its own distinct and vital voice. Flux hopes that audiences will join them in the conversation sparked by presenting these plays together. The creative team for both productions will include Sound Design by Janie Bullard, Scenic Design by Charles Murdock Lucas, Costume Design by Will Lowry, and Lighting Design by Kia Rogers.

FLUX THEATRE ENSEMBLE produces transformative theatre that explores and awakens the capacity for change. As an ensemble-artist driven company, Flux believes that long-term collaboration and rigorous creative development can unite artists and audiences to build a creative home in New York.
