Dacyl Acevedo's WILL WORK FOR Plays Two-Week Engagement at IRT Theater, Beg. Tonight

By:

terraNOVA Collective has announced the repeat engagement production of Dacyl Acevedo's WILL WORK FOR, directed by Jo Cattell. WILL WORK FOR will play a two-week limited run at the IRT Theater (154 Christopher Street, Suite 3B, New York, NY). Performances begin tonight, September 12. Opening Night is Thursday, September 19 (7 p.m.).

Unemployment and the adventure begins... On a journey into the unknown, Dacyl Acevedo has to dodge through booby-trapped interviews, face demons of her employment past, hold tight to her dream while surviving the economic crash. WILL WORK FOR is a farcical and satirical journey into the new world of work and tells of how one person is surviving, told through storytelling, clown and spoken word physical theatre.

"With the world premiere of WILL WORK FOR in May through soloNOVA, we knew immediately this show needed a second run. This is a story we have not heard before. Dacyl was one of the 99ers after the economic crash - even today some 1.5 million men and women still actively seek employment after having exhausted the maximum of 99 weeks of benefits," says Jennifer Conley Darling, Producing Artistic Director. "The most beautiful part of Dacyl's performance is the perfect mixture of humor and humanity. Everyone needs to see this show and take stock of the ongoing crisis our country still faces."

The production features choreography by Nathaniel Nicco Annan lighting design by Alan C. Edwards, photos, illustrations, and costume design by Heather Anderson, sound design by Marios Aristopoulos, and video projections by Chris Marston.

WILL WORK FOR plays the following regular schedule through Thursday, September 28:
Mondays at 7 p.m.
Thursdays at 7 p.m.
Fridays at 7 p.m.
Saturdays at 7 p.m.
Sundays at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and are now available online at www.BrownPaperTickets.com.
