Dirty Minds: Anthony Comstock vs. Ida Craddock comes to the Cornelia Street Cafe (29 Cornelia Street New York, NY 10014) for one performance only, Wednesday, May 23rd, 8:30pm. Tickets are $15. RSVP at 212.989.9319 or click here.

In 1893, Anthony Comstock, founder of the New York Society for the Suppression of Vice, declarEd Moral war on Ida Craddock, a sex therapy pioneer, a theological dilettante and a very smart cookie. Two crooked trials and one straight razor later, things didn’t end well for either of them. “Dirty Minds” brings Anthony and Ida back together for one night to tell both sides of their story. And the century-old stakes might strike a familiar chord today.

In the show, written and performed by Andy Christie and Leslie Goshko, two champion storytellers share a tag-team monologue that unravels this historic battle between good and evil. Which one is which depends upon whose side you’re on.

ANDY CHRISTIE is a Moth Urban Storytelling GrandSlam Champion. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, in literary journals and in the Thomas Beller anthology, Lost And Found: Stories From New York. He has been featured on the Peabody Award winning Moth Radio Hour and WFUV’s CityScape. Andy is also creator and host of The Liar Show. But tonight’s story is true.

LESLIE GOSHKO is a Manhattan Monologue Slam Champion and recipient of the NY Fringe Excellence Award. Her stories and humor writing have been featured on The Huffington Post, Sirius XM and WNYC. Her one-woman show, Vodka Shoes, won rave reviews at the New York Frigid Festival and her live storytelling series, Sideshow Goshko, is a Time Out New York "Critics’ Pick."
