New Theatre Company, THML Theatre Co., presents Cagebirds, a play by David Campton at the Producer's Club's Sonnet Theatre. This production makes its debut on May 18that 7pm and runs till May 21st. This inaugural play for the company stars a talented and diverse cast with strong female characters prominently featured.

Cagebirds encompasses themes of oppression and behavior modification, as well as the individual vs the collective, and how corrupt and manipulative leadership undermines everyone's integrity - issues that are relevant to our present-day political climate. These themes will be tackled and presented through the stories of women in a futuristic, dystopian society at the Center for Troubled Women;  as the characters find the will to empower themselves, the audience will feel compelled and driven to do the same.

The production is directed by Kayla Friend, founder of THML Theatre Company, and features performances by a fierce ensemble including Leslie Ivery, Sami Griffith, Rebecca Rapoport-Cole, Juliette Kessler, Becca Shulbank-Smith, Danni Vitorino, and Eve Kummer-Landau.

THML Theatre Company has partnered with several organizations for this production and will be donating 15% of all ticket sales to the following nonprofits: The National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA), Let My People Go, The Arab American Association of New York, and the New York Anti-Violence Project.

This is a story that will no doubt impact the community we serve here in New York City.
