"This Living Hand" by Richard Vetere will be presented in a free reading at Cherry Lane Theatre (Studio) today, May 8 at 2 p.m. as part of Barefoot Theatre Company's BareNaked Reading Series, produced by Vincent Pastore. "This Living Hand" is an unpublished work of Pulitzer-nominated playwright Richard Vetere.

The cast features Jana Mestecky, Sean Patrick Reilly, Amy Hargreaves, Dean Imperial. Directed by Alice Jankell.

In describing this new work, Richard writes: "This Living Hand is a play focused on the struggles latent in the marriage between a Pulitzer Prize winning novelist, Nancy, and her husband, Mark, who has been working on a biography of John Keats his entire academic career. When Nancy dies prematurely of a heart attack, Mark attempts to exorcise the revenant tensions that remain while
attempting to finish her incomplete last novel. This Living Hand is a lesser-known poem that Keats wrote to his love, Fanny Brawne, not long before he died."
