Directed by Max Freedman, Gianmarco Soresi's original play <50% is Seinfeld meets Harry and Sally meets any beloved romantic sitcom of the last ten years. It's both hilariously relatable, yet still almost tear-jerkingly raw and fresh. The cast includes Gianmarco Soresi, Laura Catalano, and Kristen Parker. It gets its title from the statistic that <50% of marriages end happily. And go.

Soresi, in a performance that's part Jerry Seinfeld, part Zach Braff, part Jeff Goldblum, and part Billy Crystal's Harry Burns, tells the story of his relationship with Laura Catalano, with whom he has been in a rollercoaster of a relationship with since college via a series of monologues, vignettes, and scenes that break in and out of the story.

It's a look at every side of love in the Facebook era, while remaining funny and alive as the audience goes into histerics again and again. Poignant, interestingly unconventional, witty, and all-around facinating and funny, <50% packs a new kind of punch. Bravo.

Now playing at the Soho Playhouse, Gianmarco and Laura star in a completely factual play about the end of their five-year relationship. Everything is exactly as it happened, is happening, and will happen.
