BRILLIANT TRACES to Start This September at Roy Arias Stage II

FSC Productions presents "Brilliant Traces" by Cindy Lou Johnson beginning at Roy Arias Stage II September 13th with performances through October 1st. David Newer directs. The cast features Faust Checho* and Lisa Fernandez*.

As a blizzard rages outside of an isolated cabin in the Alaskan wilderness Henry Harry is jarred out of his sleep by the insistent knocking of an unexpected visitor. He opens the door to find Rosannah DeLuce, distraught and dressed as a bride, who has driven 3000 miles from Arizona to escape her imminent marriage. Exhausted from the journey she relies upon Henry's mercy for shelter. Then after sleeping for two days, her energy and temper restored, she and Henry engage in a series of highly charged, frequently hilarious exchanges that reveal the disenchantment which has led each of them to run from civilization. Alternately repelling and attracting each other, they explore the pain of the past and, in time, consider the possibilities of the present.

"Brilliant Traces" was first performed in 1989 at the Cherry Lane Theatre presented by Circle Repertory and directed by Terry Kinney starring Kevin Anderson and Joan Cusack.

Director David Newer, also an actor and teacher, has directed Tape at Abingdon Theatre, Mary MacGregor at Neighborhood Playhouse, This is Our Youth at Medicine Show Theatre and North of Providence at Davenport Theatre. As an actor his credits include Gun Club (Cherry Lane), The Asbestos Bride (EST),Law and Order and Law and Order SVU,and his award winning solo play L.A. Unified performed at the 2014 United Solo Festival. He is currently in his twelfth year teaching acting at the William Esper Studio.

Faust Checho (FSC Productions) is a working actor and filmmaker frequently seen on stage and screen. His television credits include Showtime's Homeland, USA's Royal Pains and A&E's Those Who Kill. He began producing feature films in 2009 with the award winning psychological drama "The Fields" starring alongside Academy Award winning actress Cloris Leachman. His second feature, "Proxy", had a world premiere at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival where it was acquired for distribution by IFC Midnight. He then produced and had a lead role in the indie crime thriller "Dead Draw" with Gil Bellows and Michael Eklund that premiered at the San Diego Film Festival where it received top honors including the Audience Choice Award. He is currently in the final stages of post production on his latest feature, "In Between Days". On stage he's been seen in productions of Celebration, The Crucible, Rumors, Central Park West and 10 Blocks on the Camino Real.

Lisa Fernandez is a theater and film actress who is also a prolific voice over artist. Some of her theater credits include Sweet Bird of Youth, Collected Stories and Two Noble Midsummer Nightsmen.

"Brilliant Traces" begins Wednesday September 13th at Roy Arias Stage II (777 Eight Avenue between 47th and 48th Streets, 2nd Floor) starting at 7PM. The performance schedule is Wednesday thru Friday evenings at 7PM andSaturday and Sunday matinees at 2PM thru October 1st. Tickets are $18, $15 for students/seniors.
