Brooklyn based theatre collective The Artful Conspirators kicks off this season's Open Rehearsal Series with SISTERS OF THE ETERNAL KNOT by David A. Miller. Plays in development this season also include new works by Dano Madden and Breanna Foister.

The series begins June 20th with SISTERS OF THE ETERNAL KNOT by David A. Miller (BROOKLYN UNDERGROUND, A LESSON IN ART). In the play Sister Ida and Sister Odelina, living in the lowlands of medieval France, have been at odds since their youth. As the leaders of abbeys Ciel Bleu and Rouge, their life-long antagonism with one another grows dangerous: the choices they make may result the life or death of the nuns they serve. Will secrets about their past relationship bring them to peace?

SISTERS OF THE ETERNAL KNOT will be presented Thursday, June 20th at 7:00pm at ART/NY Midtown in the Bruce Mitchell Room (520 8th Ave, between 36th and 37thStreets. 3rd Floor) Admission is free of charge and space is limited. To reserve a seat please e-mail artfulconspirators@gmail.com.

The Open Rehearsal Series was developed as a platform for The Artful Conspirators resident/invited playwrights to explore the text of new works in a creative and active environment. Text exploration will vary per show but will include table-work, read-throughs and practical scene-study.

Keeping in line with their Mission of "audience as an active participant in the theatre-making process" the Conspirators invite audiences to attend these open rehearsals and assume the role of Dramaturg.

The Open Rehearsal Series will continue in September with GOOD SHEPHERD by Breanna Foister and in November with BAD HUSBAND by Dano Madden.

The Conspirators have previously presented fully developed productions of LEAVING IKEA: A PLAY IN TWO CANTOS (which was derived from audience response to 30 IDEAS ONE OF THEM GOOD) and BROOKLYN UNDERGROUND: THEATRICAL STORIES FROM THE GREEN-WOOD CEMETERY. BROOKLYN UNDERGROUND was originally produced at the Old Stone House in Brooklyn and was subsequently invited for a run at the Green-Wood Cemetery, which is a recognized National Historic Landmark.

The Artful Conspirators are a Brooklyn-based collective of theater artists dedicated to creating new theatrical work that includes the audience as a participant in the theatre-making process. The Conspirators aim to nurture the work of both emerging and established artists through developmental workshops, full productions, and education programs.
