All-Girl High School Hits the Stage in MR. LONG at FRIGID New York

The 2017 FRIGID New York Festival presents Mr. Long, written by Manning Jordan and directed by James Wyrwicz at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th St., btw 2nd Ave & Bowery, New York, NY 10003).

Performances run Saturday, February 18th 3:20PM; Monday, February 20th 5:30PM; Wednesday, February 22nd 10:30PM; Saturday, February 25th 6:40PM; and Thursday, March 2nd 7:10PM. Tickets: $15 at www.horseTRADE.info (on sale Jan. 15).

"Mr. Long" chronicles the end of senior year at a Texas all-girl high school. Within the context of an advisory, the play explores female friendships, privilege, single-sex education and teacher-student relationships.

The cast will include Christopher Buchanan as Mr. Long, Emma Clare O'Connor as Sage, Manning Jordan as Jena, Charlotte Grady as Carlotta, Rebecca Lampiasi as Eleanore, MarJay Smith as Mary Sue, and Kristen Krak as Sophie.

Manning Jordan (Playwright/Jena) achieved her BA in Film at Southern Methodist University. She has trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, American Academy of Dramatic Arts and T. Schreiber Studios. At T Schreiber Studios she played multiple roles in their 2015 production of "The Laramie Project." Manning has written and starred in a number of short comedic plays in black boxes around the city. Her most recent piece, "The Bitch and Her Bitch," was a play inspired by her days working for a temp agency.

James M. Wyrwicz (Director) is a director, sometime stage manager, and professional usher. A recent graduate of NYU, he most recently directed Wuthering Heights (...Just the Height Points) (Dixon Place), The Milkman (Manhattan Rep) and The Little Foxes (NYU). Also, he recently stage managed Jess Barbagallo's My Old Man (And Other Stories) and Eliza Bent's On A Clear Day I Can See to Elba at the Ice Factory Festival. He has also worked on productions at The Brick and Abrons Arts Center.
