Adaptive Arts Theater to Present FAUST, 8/21-24

By:

ADAPTIVE ARTS has announced its fifth anniversary production, Faust, by August Schulenburg directed by MARIELLE DUKE. The production opens on Thursday, August 21st as part of a theater residency at The Brick Theater. Performances continue through Sunday the 24th. Tickets are $18 at the door or online (https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/cal/122_). Reservations are encouraged, as seating is very limited. The Brick Theater is located at 579 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn. Performances are August 21st, 22nd, and 23rd at 8:30pm and August 24th at 2pm.

Way back in 2009, we set a goal for our 5th season: Goethe's Faust. We didn't know yet how, but we knew the story. We knew the idea: One very smart man decides to sell his soul to the devil in search of happiness here on earth.

This past fall, we began to devise our own version of the classic story. After close to a year, we are beyond excited to share it with you this August!

When one ensemble sets out to devise their own version of Goethe's Faust, the lines quickly blur between their lives and their performance.

The production features an ensemble including: NAT CASSIDY, MATTHEW TRUMBULL, GABBY SHERBA, EMILY HARTFORD, RACHAEL HIP FLORES, ALEX ENGQUIST, MATILDE KEIZER, and REBECCA DAVIS

The production team includes TD/Lighting designer OLIVIA HARRIS, stage manager AMY REHWALDT, and choreography EMILY HARTFORD.

Director MARIELLE DUKE most recently directed Peter Pan for Wolf Performing Arts Center. She is a director, teacher, and Autism advocate. In New York she has worked with Boomerang Theatre Company, Flux Theatre Ensemble, Manhattan Theatre Source, Clubbed Thumb, Piper Theater, and Impetuous Theater Group, among others.

ADAPTIVE ARTS is an off-off Broadway theater company working to fuse the gap between disability and the arts. For more information, please visit www.adaptiveartstheater.org
