Abingdon Theatre Company launches its 2011-2012 Season with the world premiere of BLAME IT ON BECKETT, a new comedy by John Morogiello, author of the recent Abingdon hit "Engaging Shaw," set to open Sunday, October 16, at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Jackob G. Hofmann directs.

In BLAME IT ON BECKETT, meet Heidi Bishop (Lori Gardner), a bright-eyed, tenacious literary intern with big dreams and an even bigger problem: Jim Foley (Warren Kelley), her bitterly sarcastic boss with a penchant for caffeine and chaos. Set in a literary office of a regional theatre company, BLAME IT ON BECKETT follows Heidi's struggles to balance her artistic integrity against the demands of her personal and professional life.

The ensemble includes Mark Doherty, Lori Gardner, Warren Kelley, and Anne Newhall.

BLAME IT ON BECKETT runs through October 30 at Abingdon Theatre Company (312 West 36th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues): Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7pm; Friday and Saturdays at 8pm; with 2pm matinees on Saturdays. Ticket are $25; call 212-868-2055 or visit www.abingdontheatre.org
