poortom productions is thrilled to announce its Spring production: 2GENTS. 
When two best friends fall in the love with the same woman, mayhem ensues.  Will the friendship be torn apart? Will love find a way? Find out, in one of Shakespeare's most tender, hilarious and overlooked comedies, 2GENTS is a thrill ride filled with mischief, heartache and just plain silliness.

 
poortom productions was founded in 2006 by Joe Plummer and is dedicated to saving Shakespeare from the dustbin.  Join the boys of poortom, the only theater company in the country devoted to performing Shakespeare with a traditional all-male cast, as they put the fun back in Shakespeare.  Led by Artistic Director Joe Plummer and Director, Moritz von Stuelpnagel, poortom productions are all about the collaboration between the actor, the director and the audience.

 
Joe Plummer (Producing Artistic Director) Joe is currently Artistic Director of the IT Award winning theater company poortom productions, the only all-male Shakespeare company in the country.   An actor, producer and director living in New York City, Joe has been seen on stage at The Classic Stage Company, The Cherry Lane Theatre, Harold Clurman Theatre, and the American Globe Theatre, Joe won the 2007 IT award for best performance by an actor in a featured role in poortom production's inaugural outing--As You Like It at HERE Arts.  Other New York credits include: Memoir at the Player's Club, A Christmas Carol, Twelfth Night and As You Like It, at The Blue Heron Theatre, King Lear and The Merchant of Venice, for The Shakespeare Society, Sun-Up at The Metropolitan Playhouse, Macbeth for the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, the National Shakespeare Company and the Samuel French New Play Festival. 
Regionally, Joe has appeared in The Front Page, Romeo and Juliet and Goldfish at The Williamstown Theatre Festival, Shakespeare and Company, New Repertory Theatre (IRNE best-supporting actor nomination), the North Shore Theater and Michael Weller's world premiere The Heart of Art at the Spingold Theatre.  
 
Joe has taught Shakespearean Performance with Roger Rees at Fordham University's Lincoln Center Campus, and has also taught for The Williamstown Theater Festival, Brandeis University and at The National Shakespeare Company.
 

Moritz von Stuelpnagel (director) – Previously with poortom: all-male As You Like It. Also in NY: Ensemble Studio Theatre, Ars Nova, FringeNYC, Culture Project, Brick Theater, Vital Theatre, Studio-42, Drama League, HERE. Regional: Williamstown Theatre Festival, Kennedy Center, American Stage Festival, Red Barn of Key West, and Boston Playwrights. Moritz has served as the associate director for Cry-Baby on Broadway, the Vineyard Theatre and The Acting Company. He teaches Acting Shakespeare at One-on-One Productions and has been a Guest Director at close to a dozen universities, including Juilliard, Boston University, Fordham, and Connecticut College. 2005 Drama League Directing Fellow, 2007 Boris Sagal Fellow at Williamstown.

The Cast features Vayu O'Donnell, Rightor Doyle, Noel Allain, Jimmy Davis, Greg Hildreth, Eric Anderson, Phillip Taratula, Danny Deferrari, Joe Plummer, and Destiny.
 
2GENTS will be performed at the URBAN STAGES THEATER May 21st – 25th , Wednesday-Saturday at 8:00pm, Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm. Tickets are
