134 West's POISON APPLE Premieres at Connelly Theater Today, 8/12

By:

POISON APPLE, a sexy psychological thriller written by Sean Galuszka, will receive its New York premiere in the 2012 New York International Fringe Festival. Called “An unnerving look at paranoia in the modern urban jungle” by Backstage Magazine and “A Hitchcockian game of cat and mouse with a Grimm twist” by LA Theater Review, POISON APPLE will be directed by Susan Lambert.

When flirtatious hipster Jerry (Galuszka) forces his way into the apartment of lonely and disconnected Paul (Chris Sams), an intense encounter takes an unimaginable turn. Inspired by true events that took place in NYC's Hell's Kitchen, POISON APPLE is a darkly-comic modern thriller.

Galuszka’s theater credits include K2, F*cking Men and The Boys In The Band. Film credits include Crossroad, Primrose Lane, Water for Elephants, The TV Set and Richard III. TV credits include Taming the Wild West (History/TNT), Hiccups (Canada) and Miracles (ABC). He also appeared in a Clio Award-winning commercial for Northface and as Ellis in the PS3 game Left 4 Dead II. Sams’ credits Benny in Rent, Emory in The Boys In The Band, Leo Frank in Parade and the feature film The Far Flung Star.

Lambert is a writer, producer and director for indie theater, movies, video and mobile games. She is the founder of 134 West, LLC, a production entity and entertainment advertising consultancy for movies, television and digital agencies. Theatrical credits include directing An Appalachian Twelfth Night, The Love Talker (w/Sean Galuska), South Pacific, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and the premiere of POISON APPLE at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival. She is currently producing Bend In The Road, an all-new musical adaptation of Anne of Green Gables, premiering September 14 in the Carrie Hamilton Theater at the Pasadena Playhouse.

POSION APPLE is produced by 134 West. Project Runway’s Andrae Gonazalo is the costume designer. Original poster art is by George Siff.

POISON APPLE will be performed at the Connelly Theater, 220 East 4th Street. The performance schedule is as follows: Today, August 12th at 2:15pm; Thursday, August 16th at 7:30pm; Friday, August 17th at 5pm; Saturday, August 18th at 2pm; and Sunday, August 19th at 12pm.

Tickets – $15 in advance or $18 on the day of the performance – can be purchased by logging onto www.FringeNYC.org, calling (866) 468-7619 or visiting the FringeCENTRAL box office at One East 8th Street.
