Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) has announced the fourth production of their upcoming 28th Season. THE CALL by Tanya Barfield and directed by Leigh Silverman, will be co-produced with Playwrights Horizons at their Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

When Annie and Peter decide to adopt, they set their sights on a child from Africa.  But as the reality of this choice sinks in, it sparks an uncertainty that speaks to their very identity as White Americans. Described as "acutely funny and tack-sharp, THE CALL is a startling portrait of cultural divide, casting global issues into the heart of an American home."

“This is really a great opportunity for us to partner not only with Tanya—an artist with whom we have worked for many years as an early career playwright and teacher—but also with Playwrights Horizons, a wonderful peer organizations here in NYC,” says Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director, Primary Stages. “This collaboration marks our first new play partnership with another NYC organization and we look forward to giving Tanya and The Call the support of two great NY theaters:  Primary Stages and Playwrights Horizons.”

Tickets may be purchased by calling Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200, online at www.primarystages.org, or in person at the 59E59 Theaters Box Office.
