Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Wednesday, March 2, for the LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to their world premiere of ANTLIA PNEUMATICA, a new play by Anne Washburn (Mr. Burns, a post-electric play at PH; 10 Out of 12; Iphigenia at Aulis; The Internationalist). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons and directed by two-time Obie Award winner Ken Rus Schmoll (Iowa at PH, The Internationalist, The Invisible Hand, Red Dog Howls, Middletown, What Once We Felt), the play is the fifth production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.

The LIVEforFIVE lottery for ANTLIA PNEUMATICA will be for tickets to the first preview on Friday evening, March 11 at 7:30 PM at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). The production has an Opening Night set for Monday, April 4 and will play a limited engagement through Sunday, April 24.

A ticketing initiative created in 2007 as part of Playwrights Horizons' Arts Access program, LIVEforFIVE makes a limited number of $5 tickets available for the first preview performance of each Playwrights Horizons production through a lottery via the company's website (www.PHnyc.org).

Details for the LIVEforFIVE lottery are as follows: beginning today, Wednesday, March 2 at 12 Noon, theatergoers can enter the lottery by filling out an entry form at www.PHnyc.org. Entries will be accepted until Tuesday, March 8 at 12 Noon. Winners of the lottery will be notified via email no later than 3PM on Tuesday, March 8 with instructions on how to book their $5 tickets. Unclaimed tickets will be offered via email to a limited standby list starting at 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 9 on a first-come, first-served basis. One or two tickets may be purchased by winners for $5 each.

The cast of ANTLIA PNEUMATICA features Obie Award winner Rob Campbell (Small Tragedy, The Patron Saint of Sea Monsters at PH; Ms. Washburn's Iphigenia in Aulis; All the Way), Nat DeWolf (Betty's Summer Vacation at PH, Take Me Out, The Wasps), Crystal Finn (Pocatello at PH), Obie Award winner April Matthis (Iowa at PH, On the Levee, The Sound and the Fury), Annie Parisse (Clybourne Park, The Credeaux Canvas at PH; Becky Shaw; All's Well That Ends Well and Measure for Measure; "The Following"; "Law & Order") and Maria Striar (Producing Artistic Director of Clubbed Thumb; as performer: Ms. Washburn's The Ladies and Mr. Schmoll's production of Map of Virtue).

In a ranch house deep in Texas Hill Country, a once tight-knit group of friends reunites to bury one of their own. But as they look backward through their lives, it becomes clear they've lost more than just their old pal. In this haunting new play from Anne Washburn, the boundaries between then and now grow disarmingly blurry as these estranged friends confront their slippery past.

The production will feature scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by two-time Obie Award winner Tyler Micoleau, sound design by Leah Gelpe and original music by Daniel Kluger. Production Stage Manager is Megan Schwarz Dickert.

The performance schedule for ANTLIA PNEUMATICA will be Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at 2 & 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 & 7PM. There is a special 30&Under performance on April 14 at 7:30 PM. Beginning Tuesday, February 9, single tickets, $60-80, may be purchased online via www.PHnyc.org and www.Facebook.com, by phone at (212) 279-4200 (Noon-8pm daily) and in person at the Ticket Central Box Office, 416 West 42nd Street (between Ninth & Tenth Avenues).

Also reflecting Playwrights Horizons' ongoing commitment to making its productions more affordable to younger audiences, the theater company will offer HOTtix, $30 rush tickets, subject to availability, day of performance only, starting one hour before showtime to patrons aged 30 and under. Proof of age required. One ticket per person, per purchase. Cash only.

LIVEforFIVE and HOTtix are two of Playwrights Horizons' popular Arts Access initiatives, which allow the institution to reach out to those who may not be able to afford the cost of a full-price theater ticket. This program is supported, in part, by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, McGraw Hill Financial and an Anonymous Individual Donor.
