Perfume para entes o veneno pa' la gente, written and performEd Carlos Manuel Rivera represents Puerto Rico in the United Solo Theatre Festival tonight, November 16 at Studio Theater, Theater Row.

The piece combines the poetry, the shamanic ritual, the ceremony and the dramatic monologue. The piece was written in Spanish Spanish-language in which the audience participates and testifies to a shamanic ritual, where a single performer through his ceremonial trance guides and inspires the spectators toward an individual, social, and collective transformation with metaphors, symbols, and images.

Carlos Manuel Rivera is poet, actor, performer, college professor, and researcher.
