New Take On DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE Begins Performances Next Week At Soho Playhouse

SoHo Playhouse (Darren Lee Cole, Producing Artistic Director), is proud to announce that the winner of the 2018 Fringe Encore Series Outstanding Production Award, Blanket Fort Entertainments' Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, will get a six-week run at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street) beginning April 17 through May 26, 2019; Opening night is set for Sunday, April 28, 2019. Written and performed by Burt Grinstead and Anna Stromberg, tickets for Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde are $49 and are available at www.sohoplayhouse.com or by calling 212 691-1555.

Nominated for six Hollywood Fringe Festival Awards including Best Comedy, winner of the 2Cents Theatre Award for Distinctive Voices, and winner of the SoHo Playhouse (NYC) Fringe Encore Series Award as well as the Outstanding Production Award! Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, written and performed by Burt Grinstead and Anna Stromberg, is a dizzying, fast-paced, horrifying extravaganza that leaves you splitting ribs as you question your own morality.

Based on the classic novella, this original adaptation takes you to the dismal streets of London in the 1860s, where societal pressures silence a gentle doctor's questions about the nature of morality. As the pressure intensifies, Dr. Jekyll takes matters into his own hands. However, things take an eerie turn when his experiment takes on a life of its own. Will his efforts save the world, or will they destroy all that he holds dear? After all, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
