New Immersive Show THE ALVING ESTATE to Open Off-Broadway

By:

Journey Lab in association with Deaths Head Theatrical announced today that they will be bringing a special immersive theatre experience to New York in January. THE ALVING ESTATE will play a limited Off-Broadway run at the Morris-Jumel Mansion in Manhattan. The show is a companion piece to the much anticipated GIVE ME THE SUN which is slated to open later in 2016.

"We are very excited to bring this piece to New York audiences," said Victor Carinha the Artistic Director of Journey Lab. The show will play a limited engagement from Jan 21-Feb 6th at the historic mansion. "The production, inspired by Ibsen's play GHOSTS, will fully envelop audiences in the text but allowing them to be fully immersed in this site sympathetic environment," continued Carinha. Only 35 audience members will be allowed experience this special production per evening.

Journey Lab burst onto the scene this year with their piece Astor and Grey, the first part of an intimate series of rendezvous set in local cafes. They strive to reimagine how audiences experience storytelling. Their partner on the project is Deaths Head Theatrical. This shadowy theatre collective, founded in 2008, has staged its unique brand of historical, haunted, invitation only immersive theatre at historical sites all over the country. Last year Deaths Head presented their first "open to the public show" at the Morris-Jumel Mansion. The show sold out and was featured in the New York Times.

Both companies have been sharing sneak peeks at the production on their Twitter and Instagram pages (@journeylab and @deathsheadtheatrical). THE ALVING ESTATE runs January 21-Febraury 6th at the Morris-Jumel Mansion. Tickets range between $35-$50 for the production and can be purchased at JourneyLab.org.
