Broadway and Off-Broadway producer Ken Davenport (author of the popular blog, www.TheProducersPerspective.com) will present HEARTLAND as the second selection in THE DAVENPORT DEVELOPMENTAL READING SERIES, four readings of new works (plays and/or musicals), on Monday, June 14th at a theater TBD.

HEARTLAND is a searing drama by Steven Owad about three young men on the brink of self-destruction in Middle America. Loners in a small community, they form a deadly triangle tempered by violence, revenge and a ruthless alpha-male need for control. To save themselves, they will have to scrape together an inner strength that has eluded them all their lives.
Davenport explains, "It amazes me how many passionate writers are out there in the world. Every day, scripts are submitted to us from hopeful writers who have committed their idea to paper, and now want to share it with as many people as possible. I have been brainstorming all year on how to thank everyone for their submissions and offer some sort of props for their passion to the process of creating theater. After much deliberation, I decided that what writers really want, even more than money, is to have their work performed in front of an audience. So, I started THE DAVENPORT THEATRICAL DEVELOPMENTAL READING SERIES to do just that."

Information regarding submissions for the two remaining reading slots in the series can be found at www.davenporttheatrical.com.

The readings will take place at 8 PM on the following dates:

Monday, June 14th (HEARTLAND)
Monday, September 13th TBA
Monday, December 13th TBA

Seating is limited. To make a reservation please email RSVP@davenporttheatrical.com.
