Bastille Day is France's "Independence Day" celebrated each year on July 14, the beginning of the French revolution in 1789. For the third year, the playful and seductive Floanne is presenting her solo concert at Joe's Pub to ravish the ear of the Francophile and culturally curious New Yorker. Her new program "Love Is French" weaves vintage songs into a didactic presentation, dissecting with humor and wisdom the cliché that romances can be.

Pianist Girshel Javakhishvili will be joined by virtuoso Joe Cohn on guitar and Grant Zubritsky on bass. To make this concert more interactive, Twitter and Facebook handles#floanne will be projected onto the stage, so each audience member can share their love stories.

"The last time I felt shivers down my spine was at Floanne's concert. Her voice is very unique with a 'je ne sais quoi' hypnotizing effect." -Agathe Lerolle, She is French

As an actress, 'Flo Ankah' performs opposite Jason Schwartzman and Jonathan Pryce in the film "Listen Up Philip", just picked up by Tribeca Films. She recorded voices for the Woody Allen movie "Magic in the Moonlight", in theaters July 25th. Flo was also in the musical "Loving the Silent Tears" opposite Jody Watley, Jon Secada and Liz Callaway at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.

Regularly at Joe's Pub, Symphony Space, the Standard Hotel, Sleep No More, Floanne also appeared solo at Bryant Park and the New York Botanical Garden. Floanne graduated in dance at the Merce Cunningham Studio and comedy improvisation at Upright Citizens' Brigade, making her a versatile, spontaneous and fearless triple-threat.

"Floanne is elegant and edgy in her personality and has regal, glamorous looks like some old Hollywood beauty. She is a sexy beauty and a musical pleasure. Her opera voice is truly gorgeous." -Danielle Miceli, New York Cabaret Today

Floanne is a songstress performing retro tunes with a modern twist. A refreshing blend of farm girl and urban actress, she is inspired by an eclectic range of performers and musical traditions. Known in the nightclub scene as an interpreter of French chanson and the Edith Piaf repertoire, Floanne is backed by some of New York's top jazz improvisers. Passionate about lyrics and acoustics, she is an "instrument"-resonating songs with her chanteuse and coloratura sound.
