TheatreworksUSA, described as "the nation's leading not-for-profit theatre company for family audiences," will celebrate its 19th annual free summer theatre offering with a special performance Seussical featuring a special pre-show reading of the classic Dr. Seuss book "Green Eggs and Ham" by Tony Award-winner Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole, The Women, "Sex and the City"), the Honorary Chair of TheatreworksUSA's 19th Annual Free Summer Theatre Program.

The event will take place at Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher St., between Bedford and Bleecker) on Thursday, August 2nd beginning at 1 PM.

Based on works by beloved children's book author Dr. Seuss, Seussical - with a book by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, music by Flaherty and lyrics by Ahrens - is playing a free, monthlong run at Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre. 

Directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, Seussical stars Ebony Marshall (Sour Kangaroo), Shorey Walker (The Cat in the Hat), Michael Wartella as (Jojo), Karen Weinberg (Gertrude McFuzz), Brian Michael Hoffman (Horton the Elephant) and Leigh Ann Larkin (Mayzie La Bird). Nikka Graff Lanzarone, Amelia Morgan-Rothschild and Ellen Zolezzi are the Bird Girls and Willie Lee-Williams, Ben Tostado and Josh Walden are the Wickersham Brothers.
