CELLFISH Selected For Inaugural Festival At Jerry Orbach Theater
Karen Campion's play will perform on April 22 during the MAKING IT HAPPEN Festival.
Playwright Karen Campion's CELLFISH has been selected as one of 15 plays for The Theater Center's inaugural MAKING IT HAPPEN Ten-Minute Play Festival, running consecutive Wednesdays from April 15 through May 6, 2026 at the Jerry Orbach Theater in Times Square. The Festival features an audience-vote format. The top two plays from each night will advance to the Final Showcase on May 6, where one or more works may be selected for further development and a limited run at The Theater Center.
CELLFISH tells the story of Laken who at age 26 killed a bride on her wedding day while texting and driving. After ten months in jail, she's out on bond awaiting trial-facing thirty years in prison. When her boyfriend arrives to break up with her, Laken's carefully constructed denial begins to crack.
Directed by KM Jones, the production stars Ashley LaCambria reprising her role as Laken after delivering a powerhouse performance in the play's July 2024 production. Grant Harrison Mateo makes his CELLFISH debut as Rod.
The show will be performed on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Jerry Orbach Theater, The Theater Center, located at 210 West 50th Street & Broadway, New York, NY
Tickets can be purchased on the festival's website.
