30 Minute or Less, a humorous take on the Asian perception in America and the absurdity of the modern media, begins its world premiere this evening at the Connelly Theatre in the2009 New York International Fringe Festival.

Directed by Eliana Meira Rantz (Laramie Project at the George Street Playhouse) and written by Jonathan G Galvez, 30 Minute or Less revolves around Dale Washington, a Chinese food delivery boy
(who's not Chinese). When Dale stumbles upon a murder scene while delivering an order of chicken wings, he is thrown into a media spin where race, perception, and even the chicken wings become more important than he could have ever imagined. He is pursued by the mildly racist Detective Richards, the mildly pathetic Lieutenant Maw, and Tino Bami, an over-the-top press representative for the Asian-America Society of America, each with an ulterior motive.

30 Minute or Less stars Michael R. Rosete as Dale, and joining him in the cast are Tony Castellanos, Rebecca De Ornelas, John Scarmadella, and Ken Schwarz.

30 Minute or Less will run at the Connelly Theatre (220 East 4th Street) from August 18th to August 27th. The performance schedule is: Tuesday, 8/18 at 7pm, Thursday, 8/20 at 2:15pm, Friday 8/21 at 10pm, Sunday, 8/23 at 12noon, and Thursday, 8/27 at 9:30pm.

Tickets are $15, and can be purchased online at www.FringeNYC.org
