The Norwegian baritone Johannes Weisser is in great demand both at home and abroad. Since making his debut at the age of 23 as Masetto in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet and at Komische Oper Berlin, he has appeared at several of the world's greatest concert venues and festivals, including Theater An Der Wien, Staatsoper Berlin, the Canadian Opera Company and the Edinburgh International Festival.Popular as an interpreter of lieder, Johannes Weisser's programme for the Bergen International Festival includes Robert Schumann's best-known song cycle, Dichterliebe, and works by Gustav Mahler and Edvard Grieg. Pianist Christian Ihle Hadland has accompanied Johannes Weisser on several occasions before, most recently at a live streamed concert at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet in January.(Photo Credit: Fredrik Arff)
