Den listige lille reven at Den Norske Opera & Ballett

The composer tjekkiske Janácek loved cartoon strip in the local newspaper in Brno so high that he based an entire opera on it. The result was the beautiful, poetic Opera the cunning little Fox.

The Opera is becoming increasingly popular internationally, but never been previously set up in Norway.

The cunning little Fox is an opera adventure for adults where the relationship between people and animals depicted with stirring sensitivity. In Opera, we meet all the colorful creatures, and we follow the cunning little Fox from her adventure in the hen house to the meeting with a glamorous hannrev.

The story and the music is riveting, colorful cast of characters, but the Opera also has a serious undertone: the cunning little Fox is all about the great life cycle of both humans and animals, life and death are a part of.

Washington National Opera's new production is staged by the Tel Aviv-based imaginative choreographers and directors Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak. The brilliant young Scottish conductor Rory Macdonald do here its scan-dinaviske opera debut. Together they lead a stellar team soloists with the young Norwegian soprano Anne Wik Larssen in the title role. Iain Paterson, who got his break-through with Sir Simon Rattle in Salzburg in 2007, acts as the forest warden.
