Virginia Stage Co to Present RED 10/18-11/6

By: Oct. 12, 2011

Virginia Stage Company continues its 33rd Season with the 2010 Tony Award winner for Best Play RED by John Logan October 18 - November 6, 2011 at the historic Wells Theatre in Downtown Norfolk.

Abstract expressionist Mark Rothko struggles to create the commission of a lifetime for the Four Seasons Restaurant in Manhattan. Rothko and his assistant Ken delve deep into the meaning of color as they expose layers of the creative process as the canvas grows with each layer of paint. Robert Dorfman, last seen at VSC in the 2010 production of The Diary of Anne Frank, and Eric Gilde, making his VSC debut, will bring the roles of Mark Rothko and Ken to life on stage.
